The end of the semester is near, which means it's almost Holiday Season! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Boxing Day, Omisoka, New Years, or Festivus, come celebrate with your MI peers and Faculty!

Join us at the Faculty Club (41 Willcocks St.) on Saturday, December 10th from 7-10 PM for a semi-formal reception and cash bar. Attendance is free for MI students and faculty. You are also welcome to bring a friend or significant other for $10 (limited tickets available). RSVP and purchase tickets online at the eventbrite link above, by Friday, December 9th at 5 PM. Food items include: pizza, various dips and platters, and hors d’oeuvres. After 10 PM, please join us at O'Grady's Tap and Grill Bar (171 College St.) to continue celebrating!

2. ACA Presents - Normand Charbonneau, Library and Archives Canada Talk

Normand Charbonneau the Chief Operating Officer at Library and Archives Canada will be giving a talk at the iSchool on his work and recent initiatives at LAC. Mr. Charbonneau will discuss what has happened the during the past few years at LAC and its future, LAC's projects regarding indigenous communities and the Truth and Reconciliation Committee, digital preservation, archival theory, and the career shift from archivist to manager. A question and answer period will follow. Light refreshments will be served.
