Ronit Barenboim (Social Committee Co-Chair)
Ronit is in her second year of the MI program in the LIS concentration, which she hopes to turn into a career at an academic library in BC.
She enjoys reading, going out with friends, planning and organizing, and cuddling with her cat.
As Social Chair, she is really excited to plan social events for the iSchool and would love to hear your ideas. She is also excited to be a voice between the student body and faculty as a Faculty Council Representative. Don't hesitate to introduce yourself and share any and all ideas you have!
Eden Rusnell (Social Committee Co-Chair)
Eden is a second-year MI student in the ISD and LIS concentrations. She is very excited for her term as Social Co-Chair! Eden returned to Toronto after completing a BA in History at McGill, and despite most of her experience being in Archives decided to eschew ARM in favour of ISD (though she is still willing to chat Archives).
Eden is very much looking forward to a year filled with great events and hopes that she and her co-chair Ronit will be able to make your year a all the more fun and all the more social! She is also very excited to hear any ideas that YOU might have for what events MISC could plan this year.
The Social Committee is comprised of two Upper Year Co-Chairs. As a committee, it welcomes members at large for ideas and input.
The Social Committee is responsible for planning and executing a number of social activities to give students at the Faculty of Information a chance to meet up, network and get to know each other throughout the school year. The events planned by the Social Committee include gatherings on and off campus and events for special occasions such as the winter break and the end of the school year. The biggest projects for the Social Committee are the Meet and Greet during the summer and the Orientation Week BBQ. Each Co-Chair is allotted one vote at MISC meetings.
If you have ideas for events you would like to see, recommendations for accessible venues in the city or questions for the committee, please e-mail the Social Committee. You can also like us on Facebook to get continued up-to-date information.
